I was born in Detroit, attending Grosse Pointe South High School and the University of Michigan Ann Arbor where I studied art history and philosophy.
I moved to Manhattan at the end of 1993, and began an apprenticeship in pre-press, moving on to in-house retouching for advertising agencies, boutique retouching, and shop management. I was honored to help in the creation of a digital workflow and a black and white digital negative for the SliverWorks lab in 2003.
In 2007, I won a national championship in cycling in the masters 40+ points race. In 2008 I set a world record in the same age group for distance traveled in an hour.
I live and work in lower Manhattan with my wife Constance Giamo whose work can be seen
here. Our daughter Felicity was born in Manhattan in the spring of 2011.
